Family Day Weekend at Scenic Caves Nordic Centre

Feb 18,19,20 2017 Enjoy outdoor family fun for all ages, all weekend long. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or expert, explore 27 km. of groomed cross-country ski trails (classic + skate) or 10 km. of snowshoe trails. Sat. Feb 18 and Sun. Feb 19, 2017 reserve a guided night snowshoe hike…or night XC-ski by headlamp until 8pm. Families will love the Winter Nature Scavenger Hunt, Children’s Adventure Play Park and roasting s’mores over an outdoor fire pit. Relax at the Warm-up Café (Lookout Point) and the main cabin. Night Cross-Country Skiing at Scenic Caves Nordic Centre

Enjoy a thrilling nocturnal winter adventure! Cross-country skiing at night by headlamp. For six nights in 2016-17, x-country ski until 8pm as dusk falls and transitions to sparkling starlight. This non-guided activity offers skate & classic trails to explore, with the reflection of glistening snow to light your path. Rental headlamps and equipment are available. Weather permitting. Guided Night Snowshoe Hikes at Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

Feb 18 + 19 (Family Day Wknd), 25 (t.b.a.) Sat. Mar 4, 11, 15, 18 Strap on your snowshoes for a night-time hike, where stars and shadows create a dramatic setting for adventure. Professional staff members guide your group on a 1 ½ to 2 hour romp through an enchanting winter wonderland. Experience beautiful trails that wind through a mature forest of 100 foot tall trees, sparkling views of the countryside at the Suspension Bridge and breathtaking lookouts from the top of the Niagara Escarpment. No experience is required and the pace is moderate. Recommended for ages 8-10 and older. Night snowshoe hikes are scheduled for most Saturday nights and run weather-permitting.
